If you have a family member who is in prison, the best way to stay connected with them is to use an inmate texting application. These apps are designed to comply with prison regulations and permit family members and friends to send and receive messages images, photos, eCards video calls, and money to their trust account in prison. There are additional federal inmate apps that offer additional services, like phone calls and video visits.
The JPay application, for instance, enables family and friends to send money into the trust account of an inmate, as well as pictures, emails videos, eCards, and eCards. It also lets users create personalized postcards using their own images. It's a more secure, more secure alternative to regular mail.
Another popular inmate text app is GettingOut that provides "simple and reliable communication" between inmates and their loved ones. The app, available in select correctional facilities, lets inmates upload photos and text their families and friends via text inmate their tablets. It costs inmates $0.25 for each message, and loved ones pay for the information used to access their messages (but not for explicit images).
